This consultation has concluded.
The City of Casey is pushing for Government support to extend and enhance bus services in the municipality. We want to hear from you about your experiences with bus services in Casey.
While the City of Casey is Victoria's most populous municipality (and one of the fastest-growing), it has some of the lowest public transport usage in Melbourne. The City of Casey is pushing for Government support to extend and enhance bus services in the municipality.
In 2010, the State Government announced $4.8 million to improve bus services in the south east. Council welcomed this commitment but believes that, in a growth area like Casey, there is still a long way to go to ensure public transport services offer a viable alternative to the private motor vehicle, for Casey's burgeoning population.
Council priorities are: increased frequency of services, extended coverage to within five minutes walk of all urban dwellings and improved services to key activity centres and new estates.
